Allied Health Professionals Day

Australian Health Professionals is acknowledging October 14th as International Allied Health Professionals Day (AHPs Day). Celebrated annually, this worldwide movement aims to bring allied health professionals together to acknowledge their hard work, dedication service delivery and patient care and the important role they play in health and social care systems.

About AHPs Day

This international event celebrating allied health professionals began in the U.K. in 2018 after a two clinicians had an idea for an appreciation day for allied health professionals. The idea was well-received by allied health leaders, executive staff and colleagues across social media – from there, the social movement of AHPs day was born.

Who is AHPs Day for?

AHPs day celebrates a diverse group of allied health professions who work in healthcare teams across a range of settings. This includes allied health professions such as:

  • Exercise Physiology
  • Dietetics
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Physiotherapy
  • Podiatry
  • Psychology
  • Speech Therapy
  • Radiography
